As a start, I've always been a fan of Ascott, which I came across on booking.com. Each time I visit KL, I will always stay in Ascott. I like the location, room size as well as the services and amenities that they offered. In short I knew what to expect from Ascott. Last week was my first stay in Ascott since COVID (my last visit here was 2019), and I have to say I was quite let down by my experience this time round, esp on the 1st day. Listing down my experience (due to word limit, Ill jump straight to the -ves): 1. Upon arrival, no bellboy/staff available to assist us. Had 2 big luggages, 2 small luggages and 1 stroller. Travelled with 3 small kids. Ended up with us pulling the trolley ourselves to the front area and us sending it into the lobby. 2. Check in was fast - which we appreciated but in the afternoon, reception called us up through the room phone and told us to go down and pay for our stay. We had already settled everything Upon check in. Another staff member told me that their system was slow that day. 3. Upon arriving to our room at 1203, we felt the room was quite warm and we noticed the door at the balcony was wide open. Later in the day I asked the reception if this was normal, he told me sometimes previous guests left it open and due to lack number of staff, they weren't able to check each room. Didn't really answer my question as to whether this is normal. Also, wouldn't the hotel cleaners be the last person out so wouldn't they notice it if the balcony doors were opened? 4. Waited a long time for our luggages to be sent up. Couldn't wait any, longer I went down myself to collect and delivered the trolley up. 5. Back to the room temperature issue, we requested for room change, instead reception offered if he can send an engineer in to check and advised me if the issue still persisted, to ask for the room change again the next morning as no rooms available. In case I didn't say it earlier, I have 3 small kids (1 year old, 4 years old and 5 years old) who were sweating out in the room, it's rather discomforting to spend a night in such warm condition. Back to the engineer, after almost an hour of checking, lo and behold, he explained the aircond "probably has a blockage" and advised me to request a room change (as if that wasn't our initial option). 10 mins after the engineer left, front desk rang and informed me a room was in fact available. We could've save more than an hour's time if they just offered us the room earlier.

I have been coming to this hotel for several reasons, the top among them was its tennis court. The rooms are spacious and bathroom amenities and the bed are good. But recently, the bathroom has a strong drainage stick and the aircon works poorly. Thus, I ended up waking up at night to the reeking smell. Also, I found out that the front desk staff are not empowered and need to ask everything from the manager, which takes time. Finally, and most annoyingly I found out that the tennis court booking prioritizes the next door condo over the hotel guests, it ended up not being a great attraction either. The last drop was that the staff at the front desk did not help at all with luggage leaving the hotel but some five of them hovered around their incoming guest while I did two rounds to carry out our bags.

We decided to try the Ascott Brand hotel since we have never heard of them before, and simply because it's walking distance to the Twin Towers and other major attractions, and we would like to enjoy a two bedroom suite. The staffs were friendly and we felt very welcome, the facility is clean, our suite is beautiful with modern amenities, full kitchenette with great water filtration, bed and pillows were comfortable and shower was super! We also get to use the executive lounge and enjoy afternoon tea. The only regret was that we did not have time to try the spa or use the pool. Keep up the great job, Ascott! You are our newest favorite and we will stay at your brand again when we can find one.

Nice big, clean, newly renovated rooms, friendly staff, surrounded by many restaurants. Narrow car park ways, car park charges are RM 6 per day if you validate your touch-n-go card at hotel reception, otherwise normal charges will be applied (I paid RM 13 for less than 2 hrs at my first time)

From check-in to check-out, it was a seamless process and most wonderful. Greeted by the porter and even assisted by them straightaway without being asked to. The formality process was seamless , handled, and assisted by FO Mdm Rabika. Discharged her responsibility professionally yet ever so welcoming. Deserve my compliment nevertheless. Hotel amenities were all in good condition. Swimming pool, gym, and spa accommodating to your daily needs, if required. All Hotel Staff are friendly and professional, most of them are quite senior in age. Pleasant overall stay experience. I'm definitely looking forward to staying with Ascott if you travelled with family.
